Kris Kobach, primary architect of Arizona Senate Bill 1070, wants to fight illegal immigration on the local level and reward the people willing to come to this country legally. (05:49)
Kobach has ties to Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), according to Wikipedia, "aside from doing legal work for FAIR, Kobach accepted $10,000 from a FAIR-related political action committee, U.S. Immigration Reform PAC." Kris Korbach is the Immigration Reform Law Institute’s national expert on constitutional issues. This Institute is the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
The Southern Poverty Law Center has accused FAIR of being a "hate group" funded by a eugenics foundation, Pioneer Fund. FAIR was founded on January 2, 1979 by John Tanton who is known as the founder of many anti-immigration and environmentalist groups. Under John Tanton's leadership FAIR was criticized for taking funding for many years from the Pioneer Fund, an organization dedicated to "improving the character of the American people" by promoting the practice of eugenics, or selective breeding.
John Tanton, is a major architect of the contemporary nativist movement who was already warning of a destructive "Latin onslaught" heading to the United States about 20 years ago.
